Jason's interest in agriculture spawned from his childhood days spent working on his grandparents' beef cattle farm in eastern Pennsylvania. As his athletic career started to take off in junior high school and high school, moving on to study turf management was a natural fusion on his love of sports and agriculture. He excelled both in the classroom and on the field at Penn State where he played football and majored in Agricultural Systems Management. Jason has since obtained a Masters degree at Michigan State and is currently in the third year of his Ph.D. program. Major/Specialization: Turfgrass Science
Sports Field management has been a passion of Matt’s ever since he first attended a Penn State football game as a kid. It's no coincidence, then, that he currently works on the Beaver Stadium grounds crew while working on his Turfgrass science degree at Penn State. Matt's interest in turf management has propelled him to work as head grounds keeper for the Class A Williamsport Crosscutters, help reconstruct Historic Bowman Field in Williamsburg, PA, and volunteer his services during the Little League World Series. He even had the opportunity to meet President Bush when he set up a Little League Baseball field in the White House lawn. Major/Specialization: Turfgrass Science
